Lisa Nanny (& Parker too!)

You may recall our rocky start to having someone else care for Arthur. Well that was just practice. To loosen me up to the idea of leaving him. No one could have been good enough for my Arthur, then with our diappointing start, anyone would look better.

Enter Lisa Nanny. Luckily Lisa is better than better, she's GREAT! Our hunt for childcare was long and stressful, but in the end we made the right decision.
Parker, Lisa, & Arthur
Lisa comes to our home. She brings her gorgeous son Parker. So she doesn't need childcare for her son, and our son gets a playmate. Win-win! They play together each day and learn from each other. Parker started walking when he met Arthur and Arthur started "talking" more and saying "ball". It is such a great arrangement for everyone!

At first it seems odd to have someone coming into your home each day. It is so intimate a space. Lisa knows our fridge is mostly empty but from condiments, a Brita pitcher and some baby food. She sees all the take out boxes in the garbage. Our microwave doubles as a bread box. She can see how many beer bottles we put into the recycling. Our addiction to Amazon Prime, with packages of dish soap, g diapers, & other random things being delivered to our door almost daily. The toys roll under the couch into a nest of dust bunnies. The first day she came, I had burned a bag of microwave popcorn the night before and the house reeked of it. So it goes.

She leaves us notes about his day, sends text updates like this one:
 & this one:
So cute right?
And Arthur gives her a hug before they go each day.
Damn it's sweet.

So welcome Lisa Nanny (& Parker too!)!
What would we do without you?!
