Yesterday (11/12/12) Arthur turned 10 months old. Exciting right? Just 2 months until the big birthday!!!
But it was a rough weekend. Friday night we went from this:
...to a fevered, snotty-nosed, hacking-coughing, vomiting, sleepless, grouchy, appetite-less baby.
So sad!
Because of this, we had to cancel our train trip up to Seattle to see my Mom & Matt for the weekend. I was so disappointed. But when he threw up right at the time we would have been sitting on the train, we knew we had made the right decision.
It's been rough listening to him cough then cry, or have his nose drain and then cry when you wipe it, or the look on his face before he threw up and not be able to do much for him.
But we still had some fun

And he has been walking all over the place! He has no fear, just lets go and crosses the room in his cute, stilted way. He has incredible righting skills- pausing mid step to adjust himself before continuing. But he also gets that forward lean going so he usually topples over to his knees eventually. It hasn't lost it's excitement or novelty yet. It's so cute to see such a little human trekking around!
What else has he been up to this last month?
- He now has three teeth (the lower left, then upper left, finally the lower right). Nursing is not as comfortable these days
- He waves bye-bye (not totally consistent yet- often waves after the person leaves, or in the middle of conversation (we're not going anywhere yet Arthur- we're having a conversation)
- He has begun to dance- this is my favorite. He really loves music! He plays the piano here and at Grammy's. He bangs on his drum. He strums and pats dada's guitar. He grooves to the radio.
- He says "mama", "dada", and now "ball"
- He will sign "more" if he is motivated by the food you are offering and sometimes signs "milk"
- He is eating chunkier foods and prefers to feed himself
- He claps his hands- so cute!
- He pulls all of his books off of the shelf. And he likes to look at the pictures, flipping the pages
- He opens his drawers and flings the clothes out behind him
- We are saying "no" now when he gets into dangerous scenarios (why does he want to stick his fingers in the heater and dig in the garbage so bad?!) which really upsets him
- He tantrums by kicking, twisting at the waist and waves his arms while making the saddest sad/mad face when you take something away from him (carpet bit, remote, cell phone)
- He has been SO hungry (with the exception of his cold), eating solids at least three times a day, begging for more and more at each sitting
- He is eating frozen peas, doesn't like blueberries, tried cheese, plus all the old favorites
- He has taken at least 15 steps at a time
