Little Moments to Remember

Wow- what a difference a year makes...
As we prepare for baby, I am really focusing on being in the present with Arthur. He is shaping up to be a great little human being. I am in awe if how much he learns EVERY DAY.

I don't want to forget this special time with our little bear. Here is a collection of photos & quotes taken in the last few months, to put it in record so we won't forget...
Color added to the bath to motivate him to get in

playground peek a boo
So many things to cherish about this time in our lives:
I love the way he holds his cup with the heels of his palms when his fingers are covered in food at dinner.
I love the cute, simplistic way he tells stories, repeating phrases coupled with actions to get his point across.
How he says "wha-O!" with joy, surprise or excitement.
His easy laugh
That he says "O,M,E" & "2,19" for ABC & 123
When Ryan or I teach or inform him of something, then he tries to tell the other parent. For example Ryan told Arthur his head contained his brain & that it was special & Arthur turned to me (I was across the room) to say "mama bain in head me".
Mowing the lawn with Dada
magnified fun
He likes to "drive" all over the place, revving his engine, even squatting to put more power behind his take off. He calls it "vroom"
His perfect upright posture
Its so cute to see his face light up if you quote lines from his favorite books in a context outside of story times.
He gives "Cat cuddles", rubbing his head up under your chin.
When he says "Mama hode me" (hold him)
That he requests, arms out towards the sky, "dada I hode moon?". He even cried once when we tried to explain he couldn't. We bought him a little stuffed moon so he can hug that when he gets the urge.
He likes to shake the pepper shaker over his hands when we dine out & are waiting for our food. Then he licks it off.
Great Grandmother Pat's organ has come to live with us
this tiny bum in these tine boxer briefs
98%tile for height
I LOVED walking on the ceiling as a child
It's not all good. The drop to the ground noodle phase is exhausting for this pregnant mama. Regardless I want to remember...
silly faces
the way he does THIS as Dada heads in for a tickle
the trillions of photos like this on my phone, taken by A
A few impressive/cute sentence quotes:
"Mama tow truck pull big school bus up da hill"
"Mama pay in ma voom" inviting me to come join him in his room
"TZ" is TV
"Fuvvy" is fuzzy, ie  "Mama fuvvy in my toe"
"Mama I hode on Hedgie Hedgie no fall" in catching his hedgehog puppet before it rolled off the bed
"I pay" is I play
Almost daily, at bed/nap time, he asks to review his day "Mama talk mo my day"
He regularly cheers "Hurray!!!" With volume & enthusiasm
He has taken to saying "I so happy" often
"Um-uh-verr" is underwear
"My toe otay mama, my toe no hoot me mama" after a booboo was kissed & made better
"Where dada doh, mama?"
"Dada dive da caa, mama?"
"When I joe up mama I jive ah caa?"

the night he cut his toe but didn't want to walk on the bandaid so we read books for like 2 hrs before bed
the way we breakfast together each morning
How he often wants to hold my hand
always wrestling with Dada "I pay ruff"
He usually ends up scooting so close he ends up on your lap for the end of his meal
Oh the hugs this boy gave me this morning... Swoon. I close my eyes each time he hugs me, trying to burn the feeling into my memory forever. His warmth. His smell. His little arms wrapped tight around my neck & shoulders. I sure love this boy.
