Whelp, time to buy a mower...

So we did it! We bought a house!!! After putting in a bid in August, with lots of surprises & disappointments along the way, we finally got the news that the house IS OURS!!!

It's a bit further west on Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy than our condo. It feeds to great schools (we can walk to the elementary school & park), Ryan can walk to the bus stop still, and it has a huge jungle of a yard for Arthur.

It was built in 1956. The seller is the son who grew up there & has been renting it out so it's been well worn in with little repair work done. It has 1400 sq feet upstairs & 1100 more in an unfinished (daylight) basement. We figure it can grow with us as we have money to flesh it out. It sits on a quarter acre that looks like a piece of pie (if that pie were covered in a weeded jungle). Garden(ing) Party anyone? 

We're excited and work is already under way. The hardwoods are getting a facelift as we speak & we've already bought new locks & doorknobs and begun to paint.

We hope to move by Nov 2nd, after the floors are cured. How thrilling!!!

Keep you posted on when she's ready for guests- you'll have to come see our diamond in the rough once she's had a bit of polishing!
