Staycation

goat!
This was our 2nd week at home together as a family. We spent it in town. But staying at home didn't mean we weren't busy! Here is a look at the mischief we got into...

MONDAY (8.13.12)
We had to do laundry and unpack from our trip in Central Oregon, but we wanted to do at least ONE fun thing! We hopped over to Tryon Creek Park for a little walk-around. It was a warm day but was noticeably cooler in the shade of the trees.
We also took the new car through the carwash- it was Arthur's 1st :)
"what the...?!?!"

 TUESDAY (8.14.12)
We spent the day at the opening day for the Clackamas County Fair (in Canby). I LOVE the fair and make it a point to go each year. I have never been in the middle of a weekday- it was SO busy! Again, it was a hot day so we hopped from shade to shade but still enjoyed seeing the animals, eating junk food, and watching the performers.

this is where i grub each year

WEDNESDAY (8.15.12)
This was a day of dates- lunch date with Nate, catch up date with Ellyn, dinner date with Kirk & Polly, and birthday surprise date for Kourtney.

THURSDAY (8.16.12)
I used this day to visit with other mommies. Subsequently Ryan had the morning off and chose to use it to go golfing. Sara brought little Nolan over- he is just 7 weeks old! Then Arthur and I met the girls at Peninsula park- My co-workers April & Lindsay have little girls that are within a month of age from Arthur. We lunched in the park and then went swimming! I then met up with Ryan for a Mommy Matinee at the Kennedy School.

FRIDAY (8.17.12)
Our day opened up so we wandered about trying to decide what to do with another hot day. We had lunch out and then stopped by the Kennedy's house to drop off the co-sleeper they had generously loaned us (and Arthur has since grown out of). This turned into a visit, which turned into dinner (BBQ), which turned into dessert (fresh, homemade, homegrown blackberry peach cobbler), which turned into pool time! We ended up staying for hours! It was such a fun impromptu way to spend the day!

SATURDAY (8.18.12)
Ooooooweeee! Mama & Dada got to go out for the night! Thanks to Nina, we were able to see Pink Martini (my favey fave) at the Oregon Zoo. We joined the Strauhulls for a picnic before. As per usual the night was full of guests: PHAME opened and the "Barbara Streisand of Japan" Saori Yuki sang a few diddys. So fun! Meanwhile, Arthur kept Nina busy as he avoided bedtime (thank you Nina!).

Great show

This concludes our 2nd week off together. Stay tuned for our 3rd week- a road trip to Canada!

  1. Aww, Arthur is so cute! And I love your caption about the chicken shopping for pants the same place you do. I can just imagine she probably wears j crew cords. Haha
