Doctor, Doctor

Arthur and I have been to many medical appointments lately.
He tagged along with me to my Dentist appt...
he was such a good boy, sleeping through the whole thing!
Even when the power went out and they had to finish my exam with a flashlight, he didn't complain.

Then we went to my Doctor to see how things were healing up.
I feel a million times better!
But as I had a rough start to this whole motherhood thing, I applied for an extended time off work to first care for myself before starting maternity leave officially.

This is the report my doctor provided in the paperwork submitted to the HR department-
it's a reminder of how serious things were:

"Patient developed severe rare post delivery hemorrhage requiring a life saving medical procedure to stop bleeding. She had short recovery in ICU and blood transfusion. As a result of the embolization there has been subsequent break down of the healing of her delivery laceration requiring decreased mobility and prolonged recovery time while this slowly heals"

Now at 8 weeks she says I'm all clear and discharged me from her care.
Phew!
I'm glad I have been so lucky to heal well!
And my extra time off has been approved and I am so grateful to say that I won't be returning to work until July!
That means more time to romp around with my little boy!
Then Arthur and I went to his doctor for his 2 month Well Child Check.
He had to get a bunch of immunizations :(
He didn't like that much.
But he weighed in at 12 lbs 13 oz (74th percentile)
was 24" long (84th percentile)
and he has a big noggin like his dad at 16 1/4" (79th percentile)

He then joined me in visiting my eye doctor.
He was very patient while they did the exam and I picked out a new pair of prescription sunglasses!

I am so glad that our little Bass Family is healthy and happy!
